The Bellagio Forum

The Bellagio Forum

In 1997, the InSpire Foundation for Business and Society (IFBS) became a member of the Bellagio Forum for Sustainable Development; an international network of grant-providing institutions striving to attain environmental balance, economic stability and social progress.

The Forum brings together individuals from foundations and businesses to build trust, dialogue and effective partnerships. The Forum was founded by a group of international donors called together by the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, a small village on the shores of Lake Como in Northern Italy.

The group was concerned by the magnitude of the task of promoting and achieving global sustainability and created a platform for raising international awareness, bringing together an expanding membership and identifying worthwhile projects which would advance the cause.

Within this framework, the InSpire Foundation for Business and Society (IFBS) is chairing the finance working group, and is a co-sponsor and the lead author of the PRIME project (Primer for Responsible Investments and Management of Endowments.
