Today, Inspire Invest employs five experienced professionals across different geographical locations including Oslo (Norway) and London (UK).


Dr. Jan-Olaf Willums

He is the Chairman and founder of InSpire Invest. Previously, he held senior management positions in Storebrand, Norway's largest financial sector company, Saga Petroleum and Volvo Petroleum, and chaired two of the earliest venture capital and investment companies in Norway in the 1980's. In 1990 he was appointed to head the Energy and Environment Office of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, and Secretary General of the Industry Forum at the Rio Earth Summit, Brazil in 1992, where he was cofounder and became Executive Director of WICE, the World Industry Council for the Environment. WICE later merged to become the World Business Council for Sustainable Development in Geneva, where he was a director until 1998. He is Professor at the Norwegian School of Management, and board member of the Center for Corporate Citizenship. He is on the Advisory Board of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and of the World Bank Institute, and member of the Private Sector Advisory Board of the World Bank Corporate Governance Forum. Dr. Willums holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Institute of Technology and a Doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sverre Marius Ellingsen is the General Manager of Inspire Invest and he has 4 years experience in working in the field of SRI, mainly in the field of Corporate Governance. He developed the Corporate Governance methodology for Inspire Invest AS. Prior to starting the rating service of Inspire Invest he was a financial analyst and portfolio manager for an asset management company in Oslo, Norway. He was handling the Norwaegian part of the company portfolios as well as some venture investments. He has extensive experience in financial evaluations. Marius has an BBA from Baylor university in Texas, majoring in finance. He is fluent in Norwegian and English.

Michael Eimstad came to inSpire Invest after 6 years at electric car manufacturer Think Nordic AS. Michael worked for three years as a project engineer, designing many system components for both the original and the new TH!NK city. Later, he worked for three years as the company's marketing coordinator and press spokesman. He also has extensive knowledge of quality systems and process modeling, having participated in the ISO 9000:2001 certification process at Think. Michael is now working on the development of a modern business model for Think Nordic. Michael grew up in Houston, Texas, and has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration, both from Cornell University.
